US-17 and MAIN PARKING IMPROVEMENTS – CRA BID 23-04

INVITATION FOR BID

The Wauchula Community Redevelopment Agency is seeking qualified construction companies to complete the following work:

1. Construction of approximately 34,088 SF of asphalt parking area with lighting and landscape
     improvements.
2. Construction of drainage improvements and stormwater basins.
3. Construction of sidewalks, curbs, trails, swale crossing with bridge.

Sealed Bids will be received by the Wauchula Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) located at 107 East Main Street, Wauchula, Florida 33873, until 2:00 PM local time on June 22, 2023. Bids received after said time will be returned unopened. The Bidder shall be solely responsible for delivery of their Bid. Reliance upon mail or public carriers is at the Bidder’s risk.

The Contract(s) awarded under this Solicitation will be funded, in part, State of Florida Department of Economic Opportunity. Neither the State nor any of its departments, agencies, or employees are or will be a party to this Solicitation or any resulting contract.

Bid documents including plans and specifications are available upon request by emailing jnewman@cityofwauchula.com.  The Bidder is solely responsible for obtaining the Bid Documents.

Sealed Bids shall reference the following on the outer envelope:

All Bids shall be publicly opened, read aloud and recorded at 2:00 PM local time on June 22, 2023 in the Wauchula CRA Office, 107 East Main Street, Wauchula, Florida 33873.

MANDATORY PRE‐BID MEETING:   A mandatory Pre‐Bid meeting will be held at 10:00 AM local time on May 30, 2023 at the Wauchula CRA Office, 107 East Main Street, Wauchula, Florida 33873

QUESTIONS:  All questions regarding this Invitation for Bid shall be submitted in writing and delivered to Jessica Newman, CRA Director, Wauchula CRA, 107 East Main Street, Wauchula, FL 33873, or via email: jnewman@cityofwauchula.com.  All questions are due by 5:00 PM local time on June 12, 2023. Questions will be answered in the form of an Addenda. The Owner will distribute Addenda directly to Bidders who attend the mandatory pre-bid meeting through email and will post the Addenda to the City of Wauchula website at www.cityofwauchula.com under the Community Redevelopment Agency page.

The deadline for questions on June 2 is after the mandatory pre-bid meeting on May 23, so you should either change how the answers/addenda are distributed (posted to the city’s website under the CRA page) or reschedule the deadline for questions prior to the mandatory pre-bid meeting.  Or do you want bidders to be able to ask questions at the meeting?  If that’s the case, you could post an addenda after the meeting.
