Medically Essential Service Customers

A Medically Essential Service Customer is a residential member who depends on continuously operating electric-powered medical equipment necessary to sustain life or avoid serious medical complications.

If you rely on life-sustaining electric equipment please be sure to register with the City of Wauchula as a medically essential service customer. To complete this process, please have your licensed physician complete the form below or submit a letter from your licensed physician explaing your circumstance and need of life-sustaining electric equipment. 

The benefit of the registration is advanced notification of interruption of service due to non-payment of an electric bill or scheduled outages.

Registration:

• Does not guarantee uninterrupted electric service
• Does not exempt members from payment of electric bills
• Does not automatically extend electric bill due dates
• Does not provide priority restoration in the event of a power outage
