Fire Hydrant Flush Scheduled to Begin June 11

Fire Hydrant Flush Scheduled to Begin June 11

Beginning on Monday, June 11, City water crews will begin flushing fire hydrants east of Highway 17. Flushing water lines through the use of hydrants is part of a routine maintenance program that is necessary to maintain the integrity of the water system allowing us to continue to deliver the highest quality water possible to City of Wauchula water customers. This process will take approximately 2 weeks during which customers may experience low water pressure and/or discolored water. This discoloration consists primarily of harmless silt and does not affect the safety of the water. If you experience discoloration in your water after crews have been flushing in your area, clear the pipes in your home by running your water faucets for a few minutes.
